GENTS TAILORING

With such a huge choice of cloths in today's high streets why would you want to bother having something made for you?

Well to start with, why would you want to look like everyone else and wear the same clothes as other people when you can have your own clothes made to your exact measurements and design? Most 'off the peg' suits are shapeless and meant to fit a wide range of body sizes with the only size options you have being chest size and jacket length. So many people wear suits with incorrect length, sleeves, shoulders, chest with some bits too tight and some too baggy which doesn't make for a smart looking gentleman. With a suit made to your measurements you will stand out from the shop-bought suit crowd and have confidence knowing that your suit looks and feels very smart and expensive!

With thousands of fabrics to choose from in all sorts of textures and patterns you will be able to find something that really suits you and know that your quality fabric will ensure that your suits lasts well for years to come.

Have you ever taken a suit to the dry cleaners and it has come back bobbly and uneven on the surface? This is due to the inner construction. Most 'off the peg' suits or those made in the Far East in a couple of days are made with 'fused' interlinings. This means the materials inside the jacket have resins in them and they are pressed together with heat to glue them together because it can be done on machines and is very quick. But when these jackets are dry cleaned the resins react with the dry cleaning solvents and shrinkage can occur to the interlinings causing the outer woolen jacket surface to bubble.

In a hand made jacket interlinings are sewn in by hand. The 'floating chest piece' made of felt is lightly hand sewn so that it will mould to the shape of the body and there are no resins that will cause damage later on. Lapels take 18 hours alone to hand stitch to achieve to the correct tension and produce a perfect 'roll' to the lapel.
